It’s All About Timing…

It's All About Timing...

“It’s all about timing.”

That was my latest response to an inquiry I received on why Constitutional Carry was so important.

Why was that my answer, and how can you help Constitutional Carry continue to move forward in Wisconsin?

More on that in just a second.

First, let me explain why I believe that “timing” is one of the key reasons the Wisconsin Firearms Coalition is fighting for Constitutional Carry.

Of course, everything is secondary to the fact that the Constitution is the most important reason we are fighting so hard to pass this crucial law.

That being said, you know the old saying, “When seconds count, the police are just minutes away,” right?

That is always true for a citizen who is face to face with an armed thug.

Sure, when some uninvited thug breaks into your home you can call the police and pray that they arrive in time to stop the attack.

But, depending on where you live, it could be 10 minutes before the police arrive at your home to stop the intruder.

The average response time by most police officers is three minutes.

During those excruciatingly long minutes, a lot can happen to both your home and to you if the police do not arrive in time to stop your attacker.

If you don’t have the ability to defend yourself, then you are at the mercy of a criminal who has already shown that he cares nothing for you or your life.

That’s why many home owners keep a gun in their home.

They want the ability to protect themselves and their families because TIME goes so fast and life is so precious.

In Wisconsin, you can walk down to your local gun shop, buy a gun, and bring it home for protection.

But, what if you are at your local diner or retail store?

What if you don’t have the barrier of your comfortable home to slow down or stop an attacker while you retrieve your self-defense weapon?

What if you are walking down to your local gas station to grab a cup of coffee?

That is exactly what Darius Summer was doing when he was attacked.

Darius is a 61-year-old local musician living in Detroit, Michigan.

Detroit isn’t exactly your quiet farm community. It’s a dangerous city that has seen some of the worst gang violence in recent years.

It’s another Michael Bloomberg gun-control utopia.

Mr. Summers decided one morning that he was going to walk down to his local gas station and grab his usual morning cup of coffee.

What he didn’t realize at the time was that his life was about to change.

16-year-old gang-banger, Xavier Futrell, was following Mr. Summers to the gas station with the intent to rob the “little old man.”

He was looking for an easy score.

Now pause for a moment, and ask yourself how much TIME does Mr. Summers have to call the police and wait for them to arrive once this assault begins?

The answer — ZERO.

It is at that moment that Mr. Summers had two choices.

     1. He could beg Xavier not harm or kill him.

OR

2. He could fight back!

Luckily for Mr. Summers, he had just recently purchased his FIRST gun AND he had just received his concealed carry license from the State of Michigan.

His timing for obtaining his gun and his permit were spot on.

Xavier shoved his gun into the back of Mr. Summers and demanded his gun and other possessions.

When Mr. Summers realized that his life may potentially be ended by this armed thug, he sprang into action.

He reached into his waist band and grabbed his gun, turned, and fired one shot into the stomach of Xavier, wounding him.

You can see the harrowing video here.

Just like that, it was over.

Mr. Summers was able to defend himself from a violent thug who cared only for getting what he could from his next victim.

But what about others who aren’t so lucky?

You see, many citizens don’t have the time or the money to jump through government mandated hoops in order to carry a firearm for self-defense.

What if Mr. Summers had this experience just one month earlier?

Would he still be alive today?

The bottom line is that when a citizen feels they need a gun for protection, and they need to carry it for the defense of their life or the lives of their family members, they have a Constitutional right to carry it.

That’s why we say, “Time is of the essence.”

That’s why 13 other states have Constitutional Carry.

Yes, they wanted to restore the 2nd Amendment, but one of the main secondary reasons they passed the law was because time is so crucial in these types of situations.

Of course the anti-gun politicians and activists all want you to think that it is better for you to have to wait when you feel you need a firearm for self-defense.

We disagree.

That’s why we need you to act now!

>>> First, it is imperative that you call your Senator     right away as we push to get a full vote in the         Senate on our Constitutional Carry Bill (S.B. 169),     and tell them to vote for the bill with no             weakening amendments!

If you don’t know who your Senator is, you can look     up their phone number and email using the link here.

>>> Then, please help us mobilize gun owners across         Wisconsin to join in this fight.

We have seen far too many anti-2nd Amendment             activists running around the Capitol, and we can’t     let them be the louder voice in this fight.

With your generous donation of $100 or $50 today, we     can increase the size of our grassroots army across     Wisconsin.

Please don’t wait a moment longer.

It’s TIME for Wisconsin legislators to step up and move this crucial bill forward, and it’s TIME for all of us to step up in this fight and do a little more.

For Freedom,

Greg Pruett
Political Director
Wisconsin Firearms Coalition

P.S. When seconds count, the police are just minutes away — and that’s the reality for many gun owners who find themselves at the mercy of some armed thug.

That’s the situation Mr. Summers (see the harrowing story above) found himself in recently on the streets of Detroit.

Luckily, he had a concealed carry permit and a firearm for self-defense, and was able to shoot his attacker.

However, not everyone is lucky enough to have their gun or permit when they need it most.

That’s why Constitutional Carry is so important. It removes any time spent waiting for government permission to defend your life.

So, please make sure to tell your Senator to vote in favor of Constitutional Carry with NO weakening amendments.

Use the link here to look up their phone number and email.

Then, please consider a donation of $100 or even just $50 today to help us mobilize gun owners across Wisconsin.
